We use Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (I.P.P.) to achieve our goals. This approach identifies five elements that characterize the teaching and learning in a Jesuit school

Context

In the Jesuit tradition, teachers consider learners’ environments, backgrounds, communities, etc. to teach their students well. Considering the learners’ context when teaching ensures the personal care (cura personalis) and respect for the students.

Experience

The human experience is the foundation of Jesuit education; teachers ask what kinds of prior knowledge and learning experiences effectively engage students holistically. They create an enabling environment to help learners gather and remember what they already know and process new information and further experience to grow and complete their knowledge.

Reflection

A key question for Jesuit educators is how learners can become actively reflective, so that they can deeply understand what they have learnt.

Action

Because Jesuit education is committed to improving the condition of the world, learners are taught to move beyond knowledge to the right action.

Evaluation

In Ignatian pedagogy, evaluation includes but goes beyond academic mastery. It includes learners’ holistic growth as persons for God and others.

Excellent educators will identify signs of growth or lack of it in the classroom, especially during class activities and students’ generous in response to other students’ needs easily.

The Principal’s Message

CJC, the School of choice!

Campion Jesuit College (CJC) strives to respond to the call for holistic education rooted in the rich Ghanaian values. At Campion Jesuit College, we are particular about every aspect of our students’ formation. Hence, we are passionate about every aspect of school life, which contributes to the total development of each individual human person. We go the extra mile to create an enabling environment that nurtures students’ potential and God-given talents and propels their growth and dynamism as individual members of the human community. Our cultured and Christian environment focuses on forming students with conscience, competence, compassion, and commitment (4Cs) to be future leaders.

Our staff is well-formed to embody these 4 Cs and impart them to the students effortlessly. Our team exhibits a high commitment which helps each student to flourish in life’s various facets. Thus, CJC prides itself in a communal atmosphere – students and the team live and work together in understanding and love, and respect for every individual since we are all God’s children.

Another uniqueness of CJC is its glocality. Although we don’t teach any international curriculum, our dynamic and excellent team excellently executes the GES curriculum so students can sit for any international exams and excel. Our curated curriculum fosters an intellectual formation that enhances students’ growing ability to reason reflectively, logically, and critically. This is the niche we have carved for ourselves. Thus, CJC students are glocal – they think globally and act locally.

Our type of education rooted in the Catholic-Jesuit tradition (values) prepares students for life, which is itself a preparation for eternal life. Our academic and cocurricular activities make this a reality. Consequently, the quality of life of our students measures our success. We do not measure our success only in terms of students’ academic excellence or teachers’ professional competence. We care about the person as a whole and what becomes of the person to his/her community.

CJC is a synodal school that welcomes and encourages parental involvement in the holistic formation of our students. Significant collaboration exists between our team, and other relevant stakeholders to realize our shared goal – positive life-transforming formation. These make CJC an outstanding school in Ghana and the School of choice for anyone seeking quality education.

It will be a great delight to receive you in CJC to have a first-hand experience with our team and students. We are looking forward to welcoming you to CJC.
